abdominal massage

Based on the Taoist Chinese principles underlying Kung-Fu and Tai-Chi-Chuan, Chi Nei Tsang is a form of applied Chi Kung. This massage technique encourages a sense of self by uniting the body's physical, mental and emotional realms.

Tara is a Level 1 Chi Nei Tsang, or Internal Organ Chi Transformation, Practitioner and continues to study with Gilles Marin, Founder and Director of The Chi Nei Tsang Institute in Berkeley, California.

Focusing on the abdomen and based on the theory that the major nerve, gland and energy systems of the body join at the navel, this massage technique involves a deep, soft touch meant to encourage the efficient functioning of the internal organs. Affirming that the physical, mental and spiritual systems of the body are interrelated, this holistic treatment also eases emotional blockages. Poor emotional digestion is one of the many reasons for ill health.

Tara practices Chi Nei Tsang as a complement to Shiatsu Anma noting that this massage technique is especially useful: to detoxify the body; to strengthen all of the body's systems, including the digestive, respiratory, lymph, endocrine, reproductive and urinary systems; to work through emotional barriers; and to use as a self-massage technique.
